Pella Community Foundation Grant Recieved

Pella Swim Club!

Pella Swim Club receives $2,200 grant to support the purchase of lane ropes and a lane rope storage reel for the Pella Outdoor Aquatic Center.  The total estimated cost of the project is $4,200.  In November the club received $1000 to support the project from the Theisen's Better Your Community Grant program.

The Pella Community Foundation Board of Directors approved grants for 30 local projects.  For the fourth year in a row $50,000 in total grants were awarded.

A $6,000 block grant was given to the Council for Educational Excellence for mini-grants for local teachers and the balance of $44,000 was given to 29 applicants with individual grants ranging from $350 to $3,000.

Jim Brandl president of the foundation said, “This year we received 37 applications proposing projects costing more than $91,600 and requesting funding from the Foundation for $63,000. As usual, our Distribution Committee had to make some difficult decisions. They did a fine job in funding a cross-section of projects which will have a positive  impact on the quality of life here in Pella.”
